Michael Roque

Software Developer

Eat, Drink, Love

I don’t always order bacon and eggs, but when I do, I want all the bacon and eggs you have."

Mike hails from Orange County, CA and has been in Denver since Spring 2013. He realized he had a passion for programming while working at a small startup called Singularity and later graduated from Galvanize’s Web Development Immersive program. After a year of development contract work, Mike found the ‘work hard, play hard’ culture at Agilutions to be the ideal environment to join as a developer. Michael brings his keen eye for detail and talent for solving problems to the team while learning as much as he can from the talented and experienced developers at Agilutions.

What change are you going to bring to the world?

I believe that the biggest change happens at a micro level and snowballs into change at a macro level eventually. I want to work hard to achieve the life that I have dreamed of living in order inspire those around me to push through obstacles that they face and keep grinding to get where they want to get in life.

What is your favorite show, movie, game, series etc.

My favorite show at the moment is Game of Thrones. Favorite series would be the Harry Potter movie series as well as the books. Favorite movie overall is American Psycho. My favorite book is A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway.

Hobbies outside of the job?

When I’m not at work I can either be found at a small, independent book store looking for something interesting, a new restaurant/bar checking out the menu, or at the gym.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration from my mother, mainly. She continues to work hard and still finds time to be a great and caring mother to me and my younger siblings. Even from 1000 miles away.

What is your greatest challenge?

My biggest challenge would be maintaining confidence in my ability to be an effective and creative developer.
